Jason has over two decades of Washington experience as a federal lobbyist and congressional staffer.
Jason began his career in Washington serving in a variety of capacities on the staff of former Congressman Ed Whitfield of Kentucky from 1996 to 2003. As the Congressman’s Legislative Director, Jason assisted primarily with the Energy & Commerce Subcommittees on Health and Energy & Air Quality.
Joining Merck & Co., Inc, in 2003, Jason spent the next 11 years as a federal advocate. He was responsible for identifying important legislative opportunities and threats to the company, analyzing their potential impact, ensuring the timely development of appropriate policy positions, and developing and implementing strategies to advocate for and achieve the desired results. He focused primarily on health care, tax, trade and congressional oversight.
Joining Novartis in 2014, Jason continued working on health care and tax with a particular focus on oncology. For the second year in a row, he is serving as a co-chair of the Prevent Cancer Gala.
Jason graduated with a B.A. in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia and a J.D. from the College of William & Mary School of Law.
